John F. Hall, Jr. teaches at Liceum Vizja in Warsaw and serves on the faculty of Poland’s branch of the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO) project as an Adjunct Lecturer. From 2017 to 2021, he was an Expert and Advisor to the President of the Polish Space Agency (POLSA).
For the preceding 25 years, he served as NASA’s Director for Export Control and Interagency Liaison. He led NASA’s participation in the development of all National Space Policies and other key space-related policies during three Presidential Administrations. He was awarded NASA’s Spaceship Earth Award for outstanding community service and leadership, as well as the Commerce Department’s highest honor, the Gold Medal, for his work in developing effective export control programs in the nations of Central and Eastern Europe.
Previously, he served as a successful international trade and trial attorney in private law practice. In other endeavors, he served three terms as an elected City Councilmember for the City of Rockville, Maryland. He is a graduate of the Washington & Lee University School of Law and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. He lives in Poland with his wife, Malgosia.
